MDA's RADARSAT-2 information to support maritime surveillance

Richmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that it has signed a $5 million (CAD) contract with Collecte Localisation Satellites (CLS) of Toulouse, France. The contract extends an existing agreement to provide RADARSAT-2 information until December 31, 2012 to support the surveillance of the South Indian Ocean around Kerguelen Island to aid in detecting illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing ships.

MDA has previously delivered two RADARSAT-2 ground information solutions to CLS, providing seamless migration from their existing RADARSAT-1 ground information solution originally supplied by MDA in 2003.
