Statement By U.K. Minister For Housing And Planning

Richmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, announced that on July 18, 2006, the Minister for Housing and Planning in the United Kingdom made a statement regarding the Government's implementation strategy for Home Information Packs (HIPs). The statement advises that the Government has concluded that HIPs will be introduced with searches and other key documents from June 1, 2007 and an Energy Performance Certificate will be included on a mandatory basis from that date. The Government will work with industry to facilitate a market-led take-up of full Home Condition Reports, which will be voluntary at inception.
