Richmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that it has signed a Defence R&D Canada contract with Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) valued at $3.75 million CDN to demonstrate a technology concept solution for the Joint Network Defence and Management System (JNDMS) to the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND).
"Military forces are becoming increasingly reliant on complex systems of communications and computer devices exchanging information," says Lee Carson, Director of MDA's Halifax operation. "Understanding the state of these information networks and sustaining their security is critical to the military as maintaining their fundamental war fighting capabilities. MDA's concept solution is intended to advance the defence of the Canadian Forces information infrastructure".
The JNDMS demonstrator contract will advance MDA's expertise in providing highly reliable and robust information solutions for defence and other applications. MDA has teamed with Computer Associates Canada and NRNS who respectively bring enterprise IT management and network security component to the solution.
