Richmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that its subsidiary Marshall and Swift / Boeckh (MS/B) has signed agreements with several regional insurance companies in the U.S. Midwest. An increasing number of regional carriers, such as Farmers Alliance located in McPherson, Kansas, are employing the comprehensive services of MS/B to ensure accurate Insurance to Value (ITV). ITV is the process of developing the expected replacement cost of a property, excluding the land it is built on, in case a total loss occurs.
"While many of the top 100 national carriers work with MDA to develop up-to-date coverage limits for their books of property business, more regional companies are now starting to show interest in ITV services," says Peter M. Wells, Senior Vice President of MS/B. "Now, like the national carriers, the regional companies have discovered that working with us is providing better policyholder protection while earning additional premium revenue that flows right to the bottom line."
Property insurance carriers who have implemented ITV-related services see results in as few as 90 days, and in the first year alone, a typical company experiences a 4:1 payback on the investment.
