MDA To Modernize Another U.K. Local Authority, Sees First Modernization Initiative Go Live

Richmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, announced today it will receive about $4.9 million CDN to modernize the processing of land information requests coming from the National Land Information Service (NLIS) to Waveney District Council.

The NLIS modernization initiative aims to significantly decrease response time to land and property information requests by Local Authorities. As part of this initiative, Waveney Council will enable requests coming from NLIS to be processed primarily on an electronic basis, dramatically reducing the delivery time.

Slough Borough Council, the first Local Authority to participate in the modernization initiative, has gone live with the electronic processing of NLIS requests. This milestone ushers in a new era of efficiency and customer service in U.K. local governments. Other Local Authorities undergoing modernization in the U.K. include Liverpool, Telford & Wrekin, South Norfolk, Canterbury and Sandwell.
