MDA Awarded RADARSAT-2 Ground Station Contract for Environmental and Geographic Applications in Venezuela

Richmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler And Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA) announced today that it is has been awarded a contract to provide a RADARSAT-2 ground station to the Instituto Geográfico de Venezuela Simón Bolívar (IGVSB). The IGVSB is within the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Ministerio del Ambiente y de los Recursos Naturales) of Venezuela, and the program is being managed by Delcan International Corporation.

The ground station will provide end-to-end capabilities for planning, receiving, archiving, processing and distributing data from RADARSAT-2 and other satellites. This contract reinforces MDA's leadership in the international multi-satellite ground station market.

The Ministry's IGVSB, as the national authority in Geography, Cartography and National Cadastre, intends to use the RADARSAT-2 ground station to supply images and derived land information to civilian and government clients in Venezuela, neighbouring countries, Central America and the Caribbean.
