MDA Enables E-Filing for Land Titles in B.C.

Richmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA) announced today that its Information Systems group has delivered ahead of schedule a pilot system that facilitates the online submission of land title documents in British Columbia.

The Company designed, built, tested, and is bringing online the innovative electronic filing system to support e-government initiatives in the province. The land title e-filing system will be fully implemented in the second quarter of 2004, with the potential to handle up to one million transactions per year.

This unique system will allow lawyers and notaries across the province to use electronic forms to securely submit change in ownership and mortgage documents directly to the Land Title Office, replacing the costly and time-consuming process of submitting paper documents in person. The new system streamlines and simplifies the entire process to a matter of minutes. Once fully implemented, BC OnLine will be the operational interface with the public for accepting electronic filings.

MDA operates BC OnLine, which provides Internet access to e-government services for legal, business and government professionals. Ongoing enhancements such as electronic land title filing reflect the Company's commitment to maintaining the channel as one of the most comprehensive services of its kind in the world.
