Devon Island, Canada

Devon Island, Canada

Permanent glaciers and ice flows are visible on Devon Island, Nunavut on the edge of the Northwest Passage in northern Canada. This image is based on an Ultra-Fine 3 m resolution product and shows a detailed 20 km x 20 km area in HH polarization. RADARSAT-2 was designed to support monitoring of the Arctic and is the ideal SAR sensor for monitoring ice conditions. The flexibility of the sensor and its multiple imaging modes allow the user to monitor large areas, and then focus in on specific areas of interest at high resolution.
