Interferometric SAR (InSAR) provides measurements of surface motion with millimetre level accuracy at regular intervals. Measurements are provided over large areas with a high density of measurement points, and without requiring personnel to visit the field.
MDA has 20 years of experience providing cost effective, accurate InSAR surface measurement services to industry. MDA owns and operates RADARSAT-2, providing reliable, high quality data for our InSAR services.
OIL AND GAS
For oil field operations where reservoir injection and production occurs, InSAR provides an indication of increased risk to infrastructure, caprock and safety.
For mining operations with open pits, underground operations and dams, InSAR provides an indication of increased risk to slope stability, earth structures, and safety.
InSAR reliably monitors very large areas and delivers critical information required to understand the state of buildings and infrastructure impacted by ground subsidence and permafrost deformation.
MDA's pipeline monitoring services include InSAR analysis to provide cost-effective monitoring of known and unknown geohazards along a pipeline’s right-of-way.
